So Eric and I are a match made in estate sale heaven, or hell…if you’re our house or roommates. We both love thrifting, junking….digging through piles of crap to find the jems at the bottom. He’s goes after the video game, general nerdity and practical things…like tools. I tend to go after the shinny things, clothing and accessories. Sunday we set out on a little journey and after a rough start to the day we landed at an estate sale near by.
I picked up a couple of very nice statement pieces for about $3.50 a piece.
My favorite by far is the first piece. It is a lovely art deco piece, that’s not marked or anything. The green stones are glass as well as the pearls. It is in beyond excellent condition for it’s age. The other pieces are also fabulous, those rhinestone bracelets are excellent. Most of these will end up in my Etsy shoppe. I am going to keep the green & blue pieces for my personal collection. I am going to do another post on Thursday this week about pairing the green necklace with things I already have in my wardrobe, but today I picked out some pieces for my dream closet that I think it would go well with. I’m a pretty simple person clothing wise. I have Kate Middleton dreams on a pretty much imaginary budget. (This is where working at a thrift store really helps me out.) These are the pieces I’ve settled on:
Things To Wear – Spring 2014 on Polyvore
I am in love with those Kors pumps, but I have a pair of nude heels I never wear already. So they’ll have to stay a dream until I wear out the ones I have. Also up there are my favorite denim, DL1961’s are by far the best jeans I have ever owned or worn. They stretch very nicely and are of very good quality. I will stalk those in my online sales.
That’s all I have for tonight. I’m really tired, this “daylight savings” crap really screws me up. I liked getting up with the sun, it was far too dark for me this morning at 0540. On the way out, I will leave you with this picture of one of the house cats.
